# Medusa

> Medusa is a digital commerce platform with a built-in Framework for customization. When you install Medusa, you get a fully fledged commerce platform with all the features you need to get off the ground. However, unlike other platforms, Medusa is built with customization in mind. You don't need to build hacky workarounds that are difficult to maintain and scale. Your efforts go into building features that bring your business's vision to life.

Every page on medusajs.com is available as Markdown: append `.md` to its URL, or request it with an `Accept: text/markdown` header. [sitemap.md](https://medusajs.com/sitemap.md) lists all pages.

## Agent tools

Pages on medusajs.com register [WebMCP](https://github.com/webmachinelearning/webmcp) tools for browser agents:

- `search_site` (read-only): Search blog posts, integrations, product and solution pages. Input: `query`.
- `get_page_content` (read-only): Get any medusajs.com page as Markdown. Input: `path`, defaults to the current page.
- `submit_<form>_form`: Forms such as [Contact](https://medusajs.com/contact) are exposed as tools; the user confirms before submitting.

## APIs

Medusa's Store and Admin APIs are served by each Medusa application (a self-hosted Medusa server or a Medusa Cloud project), not by medusajs.com. medusajs.com itself has no public API; its machine-readable [API catalog](https://medusajs.com/.well-known/api-catalog) links to the specs below.
