LESSON 4 OF 5

Explain failure and recovery

Review the points where a developer could become unsure whether to continue: missing credentials, incompatible versions, unexpected responses or an output they cannot find.

Start with real support questions. The developer support explorer can help inspect a bounded sample of public repository issues. Read the source threads before deciding what each question means.

For an illustrative webhook library, an authentication error might need a check for the correct credential, permission and environment. Write the recovery path for the actual error your product returns. Avoid showing invented commands as tested instructions.

Today, choose one recurring or consequential setup problem. Record the symptom, likely causes, diagnostic check, recovery step and support route if recovery fails.

Use the issue to documentation checklist to assign the work and its acceptance check. Issue counts describe the retrieved sample; they do not tell you how many developers abandoned setup.
