LESSON 1 OF 5
Explain the offer
Begin with the explanation a suitable visitor needs before deciding whether to continue.
Write who the product serves, what it helps them do, what they use today, and the supported reason to consider your alternative. Use language someone could connect to a real task.
For an illustrative developer observability tool, “Unlock engineering excellence” gives a reader little to assess. “Inspect failed webhook deliveries and replay a test event” describes a job. State supported environments and deployment options where they affect fit. A claim about time saved would require separate evidence.
Use the positioning worksheet to draft your explanation. Then compare it with your homepage: which parts are visible, which are implied, and which remain unanswered?
Today, write one clear opening paragraph and list the claims that need proof before publication. You can improve the explanation without inventing a stronger result.
Read the website guide for the broader relationship between offer, audience, trust and buying behavior.
