LESSON 4 OF 5

Explain pricing and the next step

On a pricing page, check whether a suitable buyer can identify a relevant plan, understand important limits and find the next step.

Review billing units, included capabilities, additional charges, contract terms and any conditions for a trial or demonstration. Make unresolved questions visible in your review brief rather than filling them with guesses.

The pricing clarity worksheet helps organize that review. Pair it with the pricing page guide.

For a developer tool, make usage units explicit: events, requests, seats or another unit. Explain how sandbox use differs from production, what happens at a limit, and whether self-hosted and managed editions have different capabilities. Use verified product terms.

Today, ask someone who resembles your intended buyer to explain which plan they would investigate and why. Record where they hesitate and what information they need.

You can also explore the directory's choice overload research. Use it to question simple prescriptions about option counts; it does not determine the right number of plans for your product.

Finish with one proposed clarification and the buyer question it addresses.
